PRP Hair Restoration
What is PRP?
PRP is a high concentration of platelets surrounded in its own plasma. A small amount of blood is drawn and the red cells are isolated from the platelet-rich-plasma. Since the autologous Platelet-Rich-Plasma (PRP) is processed from the patients own blood, there is virtually no risk of an allergic reaction or rejection.
The practitioner draws an amount of blood.
The practitioner places the blood into a centrifuge and spins the blood at a very rapid rate to separate the platelets from the other components of the blood.
PRP Hair Restoration
Hair loss can occur at any age and affect both men and women. Genetics, certain medications, stress, and various medical conditions can contribute to hair loss or thinning hair. PRP hair restoration is a non-surgical, natural way to restore fullness and regrowth.
PRP is an exciting new non-surgical option for men and women who are hoping to stimulate new hair growth and treat thinning hair. PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) contains numerous growth factors to help stimulate hair follicle activity.
During the treatment, the patient’s blood is drawn, it is then spun down in a centrifuge separating the red blood cells from the platelet rich plasma. The PRP is then injected directly into the scalp where the growth factors disperse, helping to stimulate hair follicle growth.
Who is a Candidate?
Anyone experiencing hair loss or thinning hair who is looking for a natural solution. Those who have medical conditions, cancer, platelet dysfunction syndrome or liver disease must consult with their physician before considering PRP hair restoration treatments. The best way to determine if the treatment is appropriate for you is to have a complimentary consultation in our office.
When will I see results?
We suggested having four treatments spaced one month apart. The patient may begin to see results after two treatments; however, visible results can take 6-12 weeks. PRP hair restoration results may vary from patient to patient and maintenance treatments can help maximize results.
