Collagen-Stimulating Skin Rejuvenation for Scars and Texture
Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve the appearance of acne scars, fine lines, uneven texture, and overall skin quality. The treatment works by stimulating the skin’s natural healing response and encouraging new collagen production.
It is widely used to help improve facial scarring and surface irregularities with minimal downtime.

How Microneedling Works
Microneedling uses a device with very fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. These micro-injuries are intentional and precise, triggering the body’s natural wound-healing response.
As the skin repairs itself, it produces new collagen and elastin, which are important structural proteins that help support smoother, firmer, and more even-looking skin.
Microneedling may help improve:
-
Acne scars
-
Fine lines and wrinkles
-
Uneven skin texture
-
Enlarged pores
-
Mild skin laxity
-
Overall skin tone and clarity

Treatment Device
At our practice, we use the Eclipse MicroPen EVO™, an FDA-cleared microneedling device designed to deliver controlled, consistent treatment depth and precision. This allows for customized treatment based on the area being treated and the specific skin concern.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) Enhancement
Microneedling can be combined with Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for enhanced results.
PRP is created using a small sample of your own blood, which is processed to concentrate platelets and growth factors. These growth factors play a role in natural tissue repair and collagen production.
Potential benefits of adding PRP may include:
-
Enhanced collagen stimulation
-
Improved skin healing response
-
Increased skin firmness and elasticity
-
Improved overall skin rejuvenation
Because PRP is derived from your own blood, the risk of adverse reaction is very low.

What to Expect During Treatment
A topical numbing cream is typically applied prior to treatment to improve comfort.
During the procedure, patients may feel mild pressure or a light vibrating or scratching sensation. After treatment, the skin may appear red and feel similar to a mild sunburn for 24–72 hours. It is important to avoid direct heat and sun exposure for 72 hours post-treatment.
How Many Treatments Are Needed?
While some improvement may be noticeable after a single session, optimal results are typically achieved through a series of treatments spaced several weeks apart.
Your provider will recommend a customized treatment plan based on your skin concerns and goals.
