The Essence of Dry Eyes: PReye™ Lash

This is the 5th blog in a series of 5 on PRP treatments for Dry eyes, PReye™ Drops and the PReye™ Shot. In the preceding blogs, we have focused on the extraordinary advancement the PReye™ products have brought to the treatment of dry eyes.

This last blog focuses on PReye™ Lash, an unexpected gift that came with the PReye™ Drops. As it turns out, PRP eye drops not only help with Dry Eyes, and the vitamin supplements that are in the PReye™ solution promote the health of the eyes, but as the PReye™ Drop seeps into the hair follicles, it enhances eyelash growth.

There is scientific evidence to back this up (see references below). PRP scalp injection is a well- accepted treatment for hair loss in Dermatology. Injections of PRP into the scalp have been shown to increase the survival of hair follicle cells through anti-apoptotic effects and stimulate hair growth by extending the anagen phase of the hair cycle and is commonly used for alopecia and male pattern baldness. Bimatoprost eye drops, aka Latisse®, have been shown to promote eyelash growth, proving that eye drops can access the eyelash hair follicle to promote growth. Considering that PRP promotes hair growth and the eyelash follicle is accessible through treatment with eye drops, it follows that PReye™ Drops, aka PReye™ Lash, provides a composition for treatment of Dry Eyes that also promotes eyelash growth.

Furthermore, the addition of nutrients in PReye™ Lash, including the powerful antioxidants Vitamin C and Acetylcysteine, promotes eye health as well as Lash growth. Acetyl Cysteine has been shown to promote hair growth in men with alopecia, Vitamin C stimulates hair follicle growth in vitro, and Vitamin C strengthens the connective tissues increasing collagen production, to improve hair growth.

Aside from the health benefits of PReye™ Lash, other advantages of PReye™ Lash over Latisse® include no risk of pigmentation of the skin around the eye or change in eye color with PReye™ Lash, as is possible with Latisse. PReye™ Lash is also more cost-effective than Latisse.

The recommended dose to enhance lash growth is one drop twice daily, and since the drop works at the level of the follicle, it will take about two months to see the result as the stronger, healthier eyelash grows out from the follicle.
