The Power and Versatility of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma)
What Is PRP? PRP stands for platelet rich plasma. It is simply blood that has been treated so that the growth factors, stem cells, and cell signaling molecules (cytokines) responsible for wound healing become highly concentrated. The plasma (liquid) is separated from the platelets (clotting components) and when isolated can help speed up our skins healing process and thereby creating new cells.
How Does It Work? After removal of a small amount (one or two tablespoons) of your blood, a centrifuge is used to purify and concentrate your own growth factors by isolating the PRP component (honey colored liquid). After this process, the PRP serum is then applied topically, or injected, to promote healing and rejuvenation for an overall more youthful effect.
PRP Is Safe Because PRP is harvested from YOUR body there is no risk of disease transmission or allergic reaction.
PRP is very convenient PRP therapy does not involve a complex procedure and is easy and quick.
PRP is all natural using your own platelets means there is nothing foreign being applied or injected, just your very own healing elements.
